THE NATION is an American liberal monthly magazine that covers political and cultural news, opinion, and analysis. Founded by abolitionists in 1865, The Nation is principled, progressive, and speaks truth to power to build a more just society. It is generally considered the leading liberal magazine of its kind.

The Nation celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2015. Through it all, The Nation has exhibited that great American tradition of expanding our moral imaginations, stoking vigorous dissent, and simply taking the time to think through our country's challenges anew."
