La storia del film era stata originariamente pensata per essere un episodio della serie tv Storie incredibili, ma l'idea piacque tanto a Steven Spielberg, che preferì realizzarne un film cinematografico. Ha vinto il Saturn Award per la miglior attrice a Jessica Tandy.

The Movie story was originally intended to be an episode of the TV series Amazing Stories, but Steven Spielberg liked the idea so much that he decided to make it into a feature film. Jessica Tandy won the Saturn Award for Best Actress.
