Nel 1985 lo studente sedicenne Ted Stroehmann si innamora di Mary Jensen, una bellissima ragazza che frequenta il suo stesso liceo; riesce a fare colpo su di lei quando difende da un bullo Warren, fratello della giovane affetto da un ritardo mentale. Mary decide così di invitare Ted al ballo di fine anno, al posto del suo ex-fidanzato Woogie. Recatosi a casa della ragazza Ted è costretto a usare il bagno; mentre però richiude la cerniera dei pantaloni i suoi genitali rimangono incastrati ad essa, suscitando così l'ilarità dei genitori di Mary, di un poliziotto e di un pompiere......
