This is the story of motion picture producer and director Mack Sennett. After acting for a time under the direction of D.W. Griffith, Sennett became associated in 1912 with the Keystone Company, where he produced his famous slapstick films known as 'Mack Sennett Comedies.' Fatty Arbuckle and Charlie Chaplin were among two of the stars who worked for him.
This volume explores Mack Sennett. Principally his life during his pie-throwing hey-day, with many sidelights on his associates and those he helped, Mabel Normand, Polly Moran, Charlie Chaplin, etc., Told by the author with a grand strain of humor, and just enough pathos.
