Watty has made a living out of robbing convenience stores, but after one of these job turned into murder by his partner, the psychopath Billy Mack, he is on the run with his fiancé Starlene and with both Billy Mack, the police and some loansharks on his trail. Their plan is to go to Mexico but before they do that they want to get married and visit Starlenes parents.

Il giovane Watty Watts che rapina supermercati, ma non uccide mai nessuno. La sua fidanzata, Starlene, vorrebbe sposarsi, ma lui tergiversa, pur avendole preso a credito un anello di fidanzamento da duemila dollari. Pressato da due loschi figuri, Dinosaur Bob e Creepy Cody, e a corto di denaro, Watty decide di partecipare ad una rapina suggeritagli da un ex compagno di galera, il balordo e drogato Billy Mack Black. Questi, durante la rapina ad un supermarket, uccide la cassiera, anch'essa drogata: Billy, eccitato, minaccia anche Watty che, durante una colluttazione, gli infila una forchetta nel collo. Poi Watts prepara la fuga con Starlene..
