Set three years after the events in season 1, season 2 opens with a brazen attack on Iceland’s Minister of Industry outside Parliament in Reykjavik. She survives, but her assailant - surprisingly, someone known to her for a long time - doesn’t.

Andri , who’s been working for the police in the capital city since his family life imploded three years ago, finds flyers amongst the dead man’s possessions that link him to the far-right nationalist group called Hammer of Thor. They’re planning to protest the power plant project up north, which is where the attacker was from. It’s also the area around Andri’s hometown, which is where he must return to in order to meet with the family of the deceased and to continue his investigation.
