Lieutenant Angèle Maury is a young police officer whose first solo investigation is the case of a young woman found dead in a psychiatric clinic on the day before she was due to be released. To solve the case, Angèle goes inside the clinic to question the mentally disturbed patients and ends up immersing herself in the case more than she should - leading her to feel more comfortable around the patients than with normal people... and taking her to the brink of madness.
