Description
Welcome to my course on 98-361 âSoftware Development Fundamentalsâ using VB.Net. In this course, we will be looking at a variety of different types of programs and concepts around programming.
Weâll start off with looking at Core Programming. We will download for free the Visual Studio Community edition, and use it to investigate the fundamental VB.Net statements. Weâll look at decision structures such as If and Switch [Case Select], repetition such as For loops, While loops and recursion, and then weâll look at errors and find out how to handle them.
Weâll then look at Object-Oriented Programming. Weâll go deeper into concepts that we have already used, such as namespaces, methods and classes, and add to them using events and constructors. Weâll see how you can duplicate and develop classes using inheritance, polymorphism and encapsulation.
Next up is General Software Development. Weâll look at various different data structures such as arrays, stacks, queues and linked lists, and weâll also look at sorting algorithms. Weâll then take a step back and look at application life cycle management, and how to interpret application specifications.
The next thing to look at is Web Applications. Weâll look at web page development using HTML, Cascading Style Sheets and JavaScript. Weâll then investigate ASP.NET web application development, web hosting and web services.
Then weâll look at Desktop Applications. We will have been creating a lot of Console-based applications earlier in this course, but weâll add to this with Windows apps and Windows Services.
Weâll finish by looking at Databases. We look at the basics of Relational Database Management Systems, look at database query methods, including the six clauses of the SELECT statement, and find out how to connect to databases from Visual Studio.
No prior knowledge is required â weâll even see how to get Visual Studio for free!
There are regular quizzes to help you remember the information, so you can be sure that you are learning.
Once you have completed this course, you will have a good introductory knowledge of Software Development. And with some practice, you could even go for the official Microsoft certification 98-361 â wouldnât that look good on your CV or resume?
So, without any further ado, letâs have a look at how you can use Udemy interface, and then weâll have a look at the objectives for the exam and therefore the syllabus for this course.
Who this course is for:
This course is for you if you have not used Visual Basic much, and want to learn about programming using Visual Basic.
This course is also for you if you want a refresh on Visual Basic or programming concepts. However, no prior knowledge is required.
By the end of this course, after entering the official Practice Tests, you could enter (and hopefully pass) Microsoftâs official 98-361 exam.
Wouldnât the âMTA: Software Development Fundamentalsâ certification look good on your CV or resume?
Requirements
You need to know how to use a computer. This course is intended for PC users, but some things (but not all), such as Visual Studio, are also available for the Mac.
No prior knowledge of Visual Basic is required.
You donât even need Visual Studio or SQL Server installed â Iâll show you how to install them on your PC for free.
There is a 30-day refund policy on this Udemy course â see Udemyâs refund policy.
Why not have a look at the curriculum below and see what you can learn?
