Bob Brozman is the antithesis of an archetypal 12 bar-anchored American bluesman.
An intrepid traveller, insatiable risk-taker and inveterate collaborator, he draws on a world of rhythm in a seemingly incessant global exploration of the string-bending realm. Playing a variety of new and old instruments, including baglama (a small Greek bouzouki), chaturangui (22-string Hindustani slide guitar) and a 1915 cello-banjo, in addition to Hawaiian, resophonic and baritone guitars, the Californian charts fresh territory in Fire in the Mind.
