Dredd
In the future, America is a dystopian wasteland. The latest scourge is Ma-Ma, a prostitute-turned-drug pusher with a dangerous new drug and aims to take over the city. The only possibility of stopping her is an elite group of urban police called Judges, who combine the duties of judge, jury and executioner to deliver a brutal brand of swift justice. But even the top-ranking Judge, Dredd, discovers that taking down Ma-Ma isn’t as easy as it seems in this explosive adaptation of the hugely popular comic series.

Dredd neemt ons mee naar de ruige straten van Mega City One, een eenzame oase van quasi-beschaving op de vervloekte Aarde. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is de meest gevreesde rechter van de Straatrechters, met de macht om de wet te handhaven, overtreders te bestraffen en hen – indien nodig – ter plekke te executeren. Hij neemt het samen met de aspirant-rechter Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), die paranormale krachten bezit, op tegen Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), het hoofd van een drugsbende die handelt in een nieuwe drug die de realiteitszin aantast en zich schuilhoudt in een enorm flatgebouw genaamd Peach Trees.
