Newly single, 35, and uninspired by his job, Jesse Fisher worries that his best days are behind him. But no matter how much he buries his head in a book, life keeps pulling Jesse back. When his favorite college professor invites him to campus to speak at his retirement dinner, Jesse jumps at the chance. Het verhaal focust zich op de 35-jarige Jesse Fisher (Radnor) die, nadat hij terugkeert naar de universiteit waar hij zijn opleiding heeft gevolgd om het afscheidsdiner van een professor bij te wonen, ontdekt dat het leven aan hem voorbijgaat. Hij valt als een blok voor een 19-jarige studente (Olsen) en wordt geconfronteerd met de sterke aantrekkingskracht die tussen hen beide opwelt.
