De serie is losjes geïnspireerd door de klassieke sprookje verhalen

De verhalen gaan over een verzamelaar die zijn zoon 10 jaar geleden
opgaf voor adoptie. Zijn zoon woont in een nieuwe stad in Engeland
genaamd Storybrooke. Deze stad is eigenlijk
een andere wereld waarin de sprookjesfiguren lijken op normalen
mensen.
