Nel 1896 la città di New York è vittima di brutali omicidi. Quando il corpo di un ragazzo che si prostituiva viene trovato orrendamente mutilato e abbandonato vicino al ponte di Williamsburg, ancora in costruzione, il neoeletto commissario di polizia Theodore Roosevelt chiama lo psicologo criminale Laszlo Kreizler e l'illustratore John Moore per indagare nella massima segretezza. I due si ritroveranno ad avere a che fare con gangster e poliziotti corrotti, cercando di entrare nella mente del serial killer e creare un profilo psicologico di un assassino basandosi sui dettagli dei suoi delitti.
In 1896, the city of New York is the victim of brutal murders. When the body of a prostitute boy is found horribly mutilated and abandoned near the Williamsburg bridge, still under construction, the newly elected police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt calls the criminal psychologist Laszlo Kreizler and illustrator John Moore to investigate the utmost secrecy. The two will find themselves dealing with gangsters and corrupt police, trying to get into the mind of the serial killer and create a psychological profile of a murderer based on the details of his crimes.
