Er is iets eigenaardigs met het, jongensachtige, 10-jarige meisje Laure aan de hand. Ze is pas met haar ouders en jongere zusje Jeanne verhuisd. Het is zomervakantie, dus Laure heeft nog geen vrienden kunnen maken op school. Als de even oude Lisa haar aanziet voor een jongen, stelt Laure zich voor als MikaÙl. Wanneer de band tussen de twee sterker wordt, begint het liegen voor Laure steeds moeilijker te worden.
