Jo Jones works at an aircraft factory during World War II when her husband Chris is called off to fight. Leaning on the support of her friends and co-workers, she suggests that they share a home together in the hopes of saving money. This film was introduced as evidence when director Edward Dmytryk and writer Dalton Trumbo were hauled before the House Un-American Activities Committee, which was investigating them on suspicion of being Communists.
