Ameryka w stanie kryzysu (być może po ograniczonej wojnie atomowej). Głównemu bohaterowi psuje się robot, kochanka.
Niestety nie robią już więcej tak dobrych maszyn. Jedyne wyjście to udać się na pustynię do starego magazynu, gdzie
być może znajduje się taki sam model. Wyprawa jest niebezpieczna i wymaga przewodnika. Jest tylko jeden chętny
(a właściwie chętna) E.Johnson. Oczywiście w czasie wyprawy rodzi się miłość.
